Our campground was at the edge of the park and we took the pic of the broken down trailer from our site, with the park in the background.

We explored some western history, (Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok), the Bullock Hotel and the site of Wild Bill’s demise, Saloon #10. Fun times.

We spent one day driving around the area, exploring Devil’s Tower, making a loop. Aladdin was supposedly a must see. Ha! The population was 15 and the only thing there was an old grocery store. Decide for yourself...

We ran across a herd of elk, however missed getting the leader of the harem.
The road took us all the way to Grand Lake, a beautiful little town, where we had lunch. Then the drive back to Estes Park.

There are free shuttles to take you around Estes Park, the city, and into Rocky Mountain National Park.
First pic is the crew waiting for the shuttle at the campground. (Me, Bill, Susan, Carolyn, Harry and Tim)
There is a river (Big Thompson) running through the city, so peaceful.
On the 4th, we went to a pancake breakfast and then hung out around town.
Tim bought a new Tilley hat, looking pretty handsome!

Our bikes are in the background, lol...

We had dinner with friends at this great little restaurant. Next day, Shay and I took a yoga class and met the guys, including Charlie, for coffee.

After a week in Santa Fe, we are leaving for Red River. We had a wonderful time with Sue and Rick. Tim and Rick played golf, Sue and I shopped, bought beads and made necklaces. We took a tour In the historic district of Santa Fe, hiked at Bandolier National Monument, went to the Bradbury Science Museum (a must in Los Alamos), had a picnic in the park, and celebrated my birthday. One for the memory books.
This metal art, named “Eve” has our rig in the background. The park had sculptures all around the park.
]]>Check out the necklaces Sue and I have on. Pretty special.

Tim found us a little cafe for lunch called the Pantry Cafe, very good, if you are ever searching this area for food.

Talked Tim into going to tent rocks because he wanted to get out of Santa Fe. I don’t think he had hiking in mind though.

We made it to Santa Fe, a great campground called Skyline RV Resort. The weather is in the low 80’s with a nice breeze. It was a long drive today, about 480 miles. But we are staying here for 7 days.

I have never blogged before, so this will be a new experience for me. In the past, I took notes and photos, never really combining them into one document or place. This will be a challenge for me, but hopefully a good one and one that everyone enjoys as well.
Planning for this trip is in full motion, getting Talulah's oil changed (for those of you that don't know, Talulah is our new RV), watching the wildfires in New Mexico and Colorado (currently very near our planned route), and making lists of groceries and things to pack.
Safe travels,
Debbie
